Wordpress Videos- Now on the Channel!
About a year ago I started making Wordpress tutorials for Patreon… And now, as Patreon was closed- they are coming on to Youtube!
I spent today “repurposing” 2 videos- Intro to Wordpress parts 1+2.
I am saying “repurposing” since:
1. I had to edit some parts out, such as parts referencing things that happened on Patreon.
2. Cause things might have changed- for example- I now have a discount for using Kadence theme Pro (here)
3. Cause I was mentioning or asking if you want me to make videos- that were already made. For example- the video on how to find a good domain name or shop name! (which, again, was already on the channel, but if you missed it- it’s here!)
So, Intro to Wordpress - Part 1
(Or as I like to call it- Wordpress for Dummies!)
In this video I will be going over the terminology of Wordpress:
- What is a post?
- What is the difference between a post and a page?
- What is a CMS?
- Wordpress.com VS Wordpress.org
- What are plugins, and how can they add or hurt your website?
All that a lot of other CRUCIAL terminology that will help you understand how to build a correct website!
I recommend watching this part with something to write on!
and you can watch it »» HERE ««
Intro to Wordpress - Part 2
Or as i like to call it- let’s have fun with different Themes!
In this video I went into the Wordpress system- and shared how the things we talked about in Part 1- look from inside!
I also showed the original super basic Wordpress theme that comes already installed, then switched to a different basic theme > sharing how the dashboard changes!
And then choosing a more complex Freemium theme - Kadence!
In this video I was showing the FREE Kadence theme option, along with an Elementor Demo template import (if you don’t know what these words mean - you need to watch part #1)
And played around with updating the site customization & pages.
And you can watch that video »» HERE ««
What’s Next?
Let’s learn how to blog using Wordpress!
I have made 2 videos over on Patreon (which is closed, yeah?) on how to Blog using Wordpress! The first was about setting up the blog from start to finish, and the second was about writing the blog posts.
These videos will be recorded and will be arriving to Youtube (hopefully) on the 19th of November.
Printful VS Printify Merger
If you’ve been living under a rock maybe this is news to you, but Printful and Printify have announced a merger!
The merger announcement was covered in THIS VIDEO, along with my initial thoughts, concerns, and asking you to let me know how you feel, or what you want to know!
I have spoken to both Printful and Printify and shared some of what they told me in a LIVE Print on Demand council video over on Philip’s channel!
However, I am currently gathering all public info that these companies will give me about what is in the future of both companies, as well as speaking with Fourthwall.
An updated video will be coming up, probably towards the weekend!
Black Friday Deals:
Wordpress is an open-source website builder that can be hosted on almost any hosting service. My favorite one is Hostinger!
Hostinger started their Black Friday deal earlier than usual- with amazing discounts on hosting & domain packages!
On top of that, by clicking on THIS LINK and using the code MEY you’ll get an added 10% discount on any of their existing deals!
Kadence WP will also be having a Black Friday discount- which I will be revealing on the Blogging video (as it will start in a little under 2 weeks), but if you want to check out Kadence theme and it’s free and pro options in the meantime- you can do it HERE.
And just in case you missed it..
I uploaded a video before the weekend started about using Repper with Spoonflower!
Now, I know… I have made many Repper tutorials before, but people said that I explained a bit more in this one about ratios and exporting-
and you can watch it HERE!
But with that being said…
That was it for me, for this email… I am absolutely knackered, both from working all last week and today, and from shooting arrows yesterday (reel on the arrow-time on my IG) - so, have an amazing night/day - and I will see you again real soon!
